Osaka capped her 2025 season after the Japan Open. Her journey at the tournament was cut short, as she withdrew from the quarterfinal due to an injury. She is enjoying her time away from the court and recently did a Q&A session with her fans on Instagram story.
One of her followers, who became a new mother, opened up about struggling with the identity shift and asked for the Japanese's advice. Talking about what helped her get through that phase, the tennis player said:
"I'm not going to lie to you I also struggled tremendously, your life changes overnight. I think for me I journaled a lot to keep track of how I felt, I was also lucky because I could play tennis and being on the court was a place of comfort for me. I would suggest you make time to do things that make you happy and also enjoy your new role because I promise you the time is going to go so quick and before you know it your baby is going to be talking back to you with sass😭" wrote Naomi Osaka.

In the next story, one of her fans proposed to her to be his wife, to which she replied:
"I'm confused by questions like this because you don't know me😭😭😭 Insane commitment from your end lol."

In addition, another user asked Osaka about her most satisfying achievement in the 2025 season. She replied:
"No achievement sticks out but I'm proud that I didn't give up on myself."

Shortly after the season ended, Osaka penned a heartfelt note on Instagram, expressing her gratitude for her daughter, Shai, and the 2025 season.
“Took me a while to get my thoughts together but here's my end of year recap for 2025. When I sit and think about it I just feel very thankful for this year. I'm thankful for my health and being able to wake up each day ready to chase my dreams. I'm also grateful for being able to travel and see the world with my daughter," said Naomi Osaka.
She added:
“I’m so honored that I have such amazing people that support me. I always say this but I really mean it each time, I don't know what I did to deserve all this love and support but thank you infinitely for it. I will never be able to pay you back but I'll try my best! See you guys next year."
Naomi Osaka is expected to start her 2026 season by competing at the ASB Classic in Auckland.
