Naomi Osaka has shared an honest opinion about herself, revealing her two toxic traits on social media. The Japanese is enjoying her time away from the court while gearing up for the upcoming tennis season.

Osaka drew the curtains on her 2025 season early in October. Her last tournament of the season was at the Japan Open, which was cut short, as she pulled out of the quarterfinal, citing an injury. Following that, she made an appearance on the tennis court in two exhibition matches, the Atlanta Cup and the Garden Cup, during her off-season.

Osaka admitted her two toxic traits on social media. Taking to Instagram Threads, she posted a message:

"My toxic trait is that I live every day like it’s my last so I usually act on impulse. I will also ask very direct questions because my curiosity tells me to do so 😖"

At the Garden Cup on December 8, Osaka faced Aryna Sabalenka, who bested her in their singles clash. However, she still received a standing ovation for her outfit. She rewore her custom Yoon Ahn Nike design, which she donned at the 2024 US Open during her return after giving birth to her daughter, Shai.

After concluding her 2024 season, Naomi Osaka sat for a conversation with Tennis.com and talked about issues surrounding motherhood, including the body image challenges she faced after pregnancy. She revealed how she used to compare herself with other mothers and was constantly in the gym trying to regain her pre-pregnancy fitness.

"Seeing other moms seemingly shrink immediately after having their baby was an expectation I began to put on myself. That self-comparison always hurt because I felt as an athlete I should be losing weight quicker than most, I was in the gym every day so that thought didn’t feel too unrealistic," said Naomi Osaka.

She added:

"Most weeks would feel similar to the previous week, and the weight didn’t disappear overnight so it was a bit disheartening."

In one of her recent Q&A sessions on Instagram, Naomi Osaka opened up about the struggles of motherhood while answering a question from one of her followers.

The 28-year-old kickstarted her 2025 season by competing at the ASB Classic, where she progressed to the finals. However, she had to walk over after the first set due to an injury. Her opponent, Clara Tauson, automatically claimed the tournament's title.
