Tennis legend Martina Navratilova seems to be against the decision of the Defense Department, which is contemplating recalling retired Navy commander and astronaut Senator Mark Kelly for potential court-martial proceedings. This has to do with Kelly's controversial comment made to service members. In a recent video, Kelly, along with five other Democratic lawmakers, asked U.S. personnel and service members to refuse "unlawful orders." In the wake of these comments, the Pentagon announced on Monday that it is investigating Kelly for possible violations of military law.Though Kelly is currently a senator since he was a retired member of the Navy, the Pentagon has the right to recall him back to duty and do a court-martial of him.Upon hearing this news, Navratilova called out the government with the following comment:"Fascism is here in full view."Martina Navratilova @MartinaLINKFascism is here in full viewAccording to the Pentagon, Kelly's remarks possibly undermined "the loyalty, morale, or good order and discipline of the armed forces."“A thorough review of these allegations has been initiated to determine further actions, which may include recall to active duty for court-martial proceedings or administrative measures,” the statement said via The Washington Post.On the other hand, Kelly has responded to the latest action brought upon him. He defended his comments, adding that urging troops to refuse unlawful orders is consistent with their constitutional oath. Moreover, he also said the investigation won't affect his opinion and he is ready to fight against it.“If this is meant to intimidate me and other members of Congress from doing our jobs and holding this administration accountable, it won’t work,” Kelly said.Martina Navratilova's views on US President Donald Trump's second termMartina Navratilova has emerged as a strong critic of US President Donald Trump, who is in his second term at the Oval Office.
