The Trump administration proposed a 28-point peace plan that would end the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. However, the settlement would expect Ukraine to swear off NATO membership, give up Crimea, and the eastern parts of Luhansk and Donetsk, and also surrender some of its armed forces. The plan even laid out that Russia would hold onto cities like Mariupol for the conflict to freeze at the existing front lines in Kherson and Zaporizhia.

The plan also outlined a development program for Ukraine, including the reconstruction of cities and to boost the tech industry, among other initiatives. Amid this, several critics argued that the plan would legitimize Russia’s territorial gains and that peace would come by forcefully authorizing border changes.

According to recent reports, some details of the Miami meetings have come to light, showing that US–Russian businessmen and Trump’s envoy persuaded the administration to view Russia as an economic opportunity and pressured Ukraine to concede, thereby circumventing US national security alliances.

Another segment of the report also talked about how Trump's friend sought to acquire Novatek, Russia's second-largest natural gas producer. Noting how corrupt it is that everyone in Trump's inner circle is benefiting from the 28-point plan, Navratilova said:

"The grift and corruption are truly staggering"

Navratilova was also critical of Trump when he pointed his finger at Joe Biden when an Afghan refugee near White House shot two National Guard soldiers.

Martina Navratilova has been an open supporter of the Democrats, but disagreed with them on one point - supporting transgender participation in women's sports. She kept her political aspects aside and stood by fairness, siding with what Republicans advocate for - ban of transgender from participating with the female athletes.

Recently, a fan accused her of support for the Democrats, saying:

"Voting blue despite the Dems stance on women’s sex based space

Martina Navratilova didn't hesitate to make her stance clear about how her political beliefs are, responding:

"I agree with the Dems on just about every single issue but one- while I strongly disagree with Trump and his sycophants on every single issue but one. Ok?!?"
