Jessica Pegula recently revealed how her husband, Taylor Gahagen, often inspires her exhibition decisions. Pegula is playing at multiple exhibition events in December during the tennis offseason.
During the latest episode of The Player's Box Podcast, hosted by American WTA stars Pegula, Madison Keys, Desirae Krawczyk, and Jennifer Brady, the women discussed tennis exhibitions. Keys explained how she will be playing at only one exhibition event in December.
Meanwhile, Pegula revealed that many stars pulled out of a few exhibitions, leading to her playing them. She played in two high-profile exhibition events back-to-back in New Jersey and Miami, followed by a few local events. The 31-year-old also revealed how she plans on giving her husband his Christmas present.

"And then I'm doing two kind of local exhibitions. Um, one is somewhere that I'm a member at, and the other is a place that I like to play golf at. So, I have to make sure I, you know, give back to the club. I swear half these exhibitions I do are literally so, like, Taylor can play golf there. On Sunday, December 7, Pegula defeated Amanda Anisimova at 'A Racquet at The Rock' exhibition in New Jersey 3-6 7-6 (5) 10-8. A day later, Anisimova exacted revenge in Miami at the home ground of the Miami Marlins, 6-2, 7-5.
Jessica Pegula and Taylor Gahagen are a power couple married in 2021
Jessica Pegula and her husband, Taylor Gahagen, have built a meaningful life together off the tennis court. The two reportedly began dating around 2015. Their wedding, originally planned for 2020, was delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, they finally tied the knot in October 2021.
"We were supposed to get married in October last year," Pegula said on the Tennis.com podcast in January 2021. "We postponed it a year ... It’s fine, it worked out!"
In 2022, they enjoyed a long-delayed honeymoon in Costa Rica. The WTA star has described herself as the more adventurous one. She went waterfall-rappelling and zip-lining, while Taylor hung back.
Beyond their personal life, the couple also collaborates professionally. Taylor serves as vice-president of Jessica’s skincare brand Ready 24, founded back in 2018.
They’re also passionate about animal welfare and together launched the nonprofit A Lending Paw, which rescues dogs and trains them to become service animals.
