Jessica Pegula recently revealed that her sister Kelly got engaged right before Thanksgiving. At the same time, the American tennis star also hilariously recounted the tale of how fellow American WTA star Desirae Krawczyk accidentally outed the news of the engagement to fans.
Pegula and her sister Kelly share a close bond. The siblings previously co-founded Healthy Scratch, a business serving salads, acai bowls, smoothies, cold-pressed juices, juice shots, and wraps. While the two sisters have since moved on from this entrepreneurial adventure, Kelly is still often seen in the stands when the former World No.3 is competing at tournaments.
Recently, in an episode of The Players' Box Podcast, Jessica Pegula rejoiced over her sister's engagement, saying:
“Shout out to my sister. (She) got engaged the day before Thanksgiving, she's very excited about that. Yay, Kelly.”
Chiming in on the conversation, Grand Slam champion Madison Keys revealed that WTA star Desirae Krawczyk had accidentally outed the news in an Instagram post.
“Shout out to Dez (who) outed it.”
Krawczyk was quick to defend herself, explaining that she thought the news was already public.
“I didn't even think of that. I was like, "Oh my god." So in the photo we were at the Savers game and she's like (holds her hand up to her face) and I was like, "Well, I'm going to post this." (And she said) okay.”
Jessica Pegula went on to show her agreement with Krawczyk’s dilemma, hilariously adding:
“So, she kept doing it and every picture I have of her is like this from the entire week. And I'm like, well, I can't, like we can't edit this out. So, you're just getting a hard launch with the engagement.”
Kelly Pegula has since gone on to announce her engagement herself, and it all seems to be water under the bridge for the good friends.
Jessica Pegula delights in back-to-back exhibition matches

Jessica Pegula enjoyed a strong 2025 season. The American wrapped up her year at the WTA Finals, where she defeated Jasmine Paolini and Coco Gauff in her group stage matches, before falling short against eventual champion Elena Rybakina in the semifinals.
Recently, Pegula returned to court for some exhibition action. On December 7, she competed at the ‘A Racquet At The Rock’ exhibition at the Prudential Centre in Newark. While there, she claimed a 3-6, 7-5, 10-8 win over Amanda Anisimova. Days after this, Pegula and Anisimova clashed swords at the Miami Invitational exhibition. This time around, Anisimova managed to get the better of her opponent in a hard-fought victory.
