The 25-year-old tied the knot with Nina Ghaibi in September 2025 after dating for six years. While he had some solid results at the start of the season, he has raised his level since getting married.

Auger-Aliassime made the quarterfinals of the Cincinnati Open, and followed it up with a semifinal finish at the US Open just days before his marriage. The Shanghai Masters also doubled up as the couple's honeymoon spot, and he made the last eight there. He won his first title as a married man at the European Open.

The Canadian also finished as the runner-up to Jannik Sinner at the Paris Masters, and has now made the semifinals of the ATP Finals. He's set to make his top five debut at No. 5 in next week's rankings, and could rise to No. 4 with a title. In an interview with the ATP Tour, he spoke how Ghaibi's unwavering support has only improved his life.

"She supports me, listens and even gives me great advice, whether it's about tennis or not. We really try to support each other in everything and at the same time, we’re best friends. It’s the best thing to have her in my life," Auger-Aliassime said.

Ghaibi certainly understands what it takes to succeed in a fast-paced sport like tennis. She is a professional equestrian herself, and is often occupied with her own endeavors. However, she ensures she's there to cheer for Auger-Aliassime during his most important matches.

Aside from being a part of the sporting world, the young couple also share another common factor, their multi-ethnic background. Auger-Aliassime's father emigrated from Togo to Canada, while his mother is of French-Canadian descent. Ghaibi's mother is Croatian, while her father is Moroccan. She grew up living in different European countries as well as the United States.

With so much in common, it's no surprise they hit it off as soon as they met. Their meeting took place thanks to another tennis player, Ajla Tomljanovic, who's Ghaibi's cousin. They have been together since 2019, when they were just teenagers. Their love story progressed further with their marriage this year, and now Auger-Aliassime will aim to take his career to the next level as well.

Should he upset Alcaraz, then Auger-Aliassime's appearance in the summit clash of the ATP Finals would supersede his couple of runner-up finishes at the Masters 1000 level. However, this won't be an easy feat to attain.

Alcaraz has won his last four matches against Auger-Aliassime. Prior to his losing skid, the Canadian won their first three meetings, so he isn't completely outfoxed by his younger rival. This will be another riveting showdown between them, especially considering their current form.
