Rybakina sustained a shoulder injury in the warm-up ahead of her final group game against Ekaterina Alexandrova. It did not slow her down, though, as she produced a dominant performance, registering a 6-4, 6-4 win.

"I was just trying to of course win because each match I play I want to win and I knew that she's a tough opponent and I need to be careful and it's definitely a good preparation for my next opponent, no matter who I play," Rybakina said in an interview after the match. "A little bit tired of course, but I have a day off tomorrow so it definitely will help."

"And with the shoulder it just happened on the warm up. I felt a bit uncomfortable but we're going to work on that. So hopefully it's not going to be an issue for my next match. And yeah, I will try to do my best as always."

The 26-year-old's win against Alexandrova marked her third straight win in the round-robin stage. She now has a perfect 3-0 record and will face Jessica Pegula in the semifinals on Friday.

In her post-match press conference, Rybakina broke down her performance.

“She brings so much intensity to the court. I feel like she started the match really well and I was a little bit slow, so on serve straight away, she broke me. It was difficult to be down, but in the second set, I pushed myself. My serve improved, and I’m really happy that I stepped in and played better each point. I’m very happy with my performance," said Elena Rybakina (via WTA Tennis).
