Emma Raducanu breaks silence on new boyfriend rumors and 'creepy' paparazzi behavior

Emma Raducanu has broken her silence on rumors about having a new boyfriend. The Brit dismissed the speculation and also criticized the paparazzi for spreading it.

A British tabloid shared a picture of the 2021 US Open champion with a young man recently in an article, leading to rumors about her love life. According to Raducanu, the young man is her best friend's brother. She also stated that her best friend was there as well and that the tabloid cleverly cropped out the friend to sell the content.

"What did creep me out was I saw a photo of myself in London, and I didn’t see the paps (paparazzi photographers). I was with my two best friends. This happened last week, and it was like some tabloid article saying I had a new boyfriend or whatever. But it’s literally my best friend’s brother. I was like, ‘Come on guys. Be better.’," Raducanu told The Telegraph.

Sarcastically saying that she 'feels good' about the paparazzi watching over her, Emma Raducanu added:

"We were going to the rugby, and of course, they cropped my best friend out (so that) it was just me and this guy, and I just didn’t see the paps. So that’s obviously creepy. How did they take this photo? But other than that, I feel good because someone’s always watching my back."

In 2023, reports surfaced about Emma Raducanu dating Carlo Agostinelli, the son of billionaire financier Robert. In September the same year, the pair were spotted holding each other's arms as they walked the red carpet at the Paris Fashion Week. However, the very next year, reports claimed that Raducanu's relationship with Agostinelli had ended.

Earlier in 2025, Raducanu's love life became the subject of speculation again. This time around, she was linked to reigning ATP No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz after the Brit and the Spaniard decided to participate as a doubles pair at the 2025 US Open's revamped mixed doubles competition. However, both Raducanu and Alcaraz maintained that they only happen to be very good friends.

On the tennis front, Emma Raducanu's 2025 season ended at the Ningbo Open with a disappointing first-round loss. The 23-year-old finished the season as the World No. 29 in women's singles.
