Elena Rybakina recently shared a concerning message about her injuries ahead of the 2026 season. She is currently in her off-season.

Rybakina concluded her 2025 season after the WTA Finals, where she reached the final round and locked horns with Aryna Sabalenka. Showcasing her dominance, she outplayed the World No. 1 by claiming a 6-3, 7-6(0) victory. Ahead of her semi-finals at the WTA Finals, she expressed concern over the situation of her shoulder. She sustained a shoulder injury during the third group stage round against Ekaterina Alexandrova.

Currently, she is in her off-season, and amid this, she recently shared a concerning update about her injury. She sat for an interview, where she was asked if she had enough time to recover from her back and shoulder injury. Revealing her recovery update, she said:

"My back hurt at the beginning of the season. It was a shame that it started in Australia, we were able to fix everything quickly, do exercises. The most worrying thing is problems with the legs, sometimes better, sometimes worse. In addition to training, we also do various recovery procedures. Such a moment that cannot be solved quickly," said Elena Rybakina.

"Regarding the shoulder, it happened at the last tournament, which did not require manipulations or the help of doctors. There was a rest and everything went well. My shoulder hurt because I played a lot of tournaments in a row, served a lot."

Elena Rybakina sat for a press conference in Saudi Arabia during the WTA Finals, where she was asked about her 2025 season. Talking about the ups and downs she endured during the season, she revealed all the hardships she faced. Along with this, she also opened up about the rest she got, saying:

"Yeah, this year I had a lot of ups and downs starting with sleep problem, like insomnia, whatever it was. Then allergies, then back. When you have such a rhythm, it's not easy to stop. But after I got used to some rest, I would say. It was really nice."

She further spoke about the break she took after the US Open, adding:

"Again, it's not easy to start after this break. But I'm happy with the work we did in the last two weeks. Of course, I'm not maybe at my 100%. Yeah, I'm just looking forward and happy to be healthy now and start playing."

Elena Rybakina started her season by competing at the Australian Open. She reached the fourth round, where she was defeated by Madison Keys.
