Coco Gauff reflects on her parents' role in her success, opens up about the one request she had for her mother

At the 2025 French Open, Coco Gauff defeated World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka in the finals to win her second Grand Slam title. After her victory, the American raced over to the stands to celebrate with her parents.
In her post match conference, Gauff reflected on her parents' role in her success, saying,
“They're definitely someone who listens to my opinions the most and I think you know sometimes we hear crazy stories about tennis parents and all that and I can say I don't relate to that.”
She went on to discuss the requests she had for her parents, adding,
“I've asked my dad to take a step back and he did and (it) ended up being a great thing for both of us. And my mom I've asked (that) I needed her to be on the road more. I have my physio but you know being in a team full of men I was like I need some estrogen and some female energy here. So I asked my mom to go and you know women just notice more things.”
On the tennis end of things, Coco Gauff was last seen in action at the WTA Finals. While the 21-year-old entered the event as the defending champion, she failed to make it past the group stage matches this time around.
