The Charlotte Invitational kicks off a series of exhibition events in the United States that will wrap up by next week. It will take place on Thursday, December 4, and will be followed by A Racquet at the Rock in New Jersey on December 7, and the Miami Invitational and the Garden Cup on December 8.
Four of the most recognizable names in the sport will headline this year's Charlotte Invitational in Queen City. On that note, here's everything to know about the upcoming exhibition in Charlotte:
Charlotte Invitational 2025: Players
Seven-time Major champion Venus Williams leads the field. The American had a memorable season, both on and off the court. She made her comeback at the Citi DC Open and beat top-40 player Peyton Stearns in the first round. She also made the last eight of the US Open in doubles with Leylah Fernandez. Off the court, the former World No. 1 got engaged to actor Andrea Preti.
Williams will face reigning Australian Open champion Madison Keys. The latter returned to the top 10 this year, thanks to her triumph in Melbourne. She also won the Adelaide International and advanced to the quarterfinals of the French Open.
World No. 6 Taylor Fritz and former top-10 player Frances Tiafoe will go toe-to-toe in the men's singles match. Fritz won two titles this year and made the Wimbledon semifinals, while Tiafoe's best results were a quarterfinal at the French Open and a runner-up finish in Houston.
Keys and Tiafoe graced Charlotte with their presence last year as well, alongside Carlos Alcaraz and Sloane Stephens. Fritz and Williams will return to the city after a while. The 45-year-old won the Charleston Open back in 2004, and will aim to channel that winning feeling against Keys.
