Carlos Alcaraz has disclosed what he intends to do following his upcoming exhibition events in the build-up to the 2026 season. Following his runner-up finish at the ATP Finals 2025, he was scheduled to lead Spain's campaign at the Davis Cup Finals. However, an injury forced him to withdraw from the tournament.
Since recovering from the injury, Alcaraz has been living it up in the USA in recent weeks. He presented Lionel Messi with a trophy at an MLS game, attended a basketball match, and caught up with Aryna Sabalenka for Thanksgiving, along with other exciting escapades.
Alcaraz is now gearing up for his exhibition matches in New Jersey and Miami, which are scheduled for December 7th and 8th respectively. Spanish outlet Marca got wind of his pre-season plans, which includes training at the Ferrero Tennis Academy in Spain with Flavio Cobolli from December 13.
The six-time Major champion will do the bulk of his preparation for the Australian Open 2026 at his coach's academy with Cobolli. The latter was supposed to join him last year as well but couldn't due to an injury. The Italian was instrumental in securing his country's third consecutive Davis Cup title last month.
Alcaraz isn't scheduled to participate in any traditional warm-up events prior to the Australian Open. While most of his peers will ring in the new year in the southern hemisphere, he will arrive in Australia only a week before the start of the season's first Major.
Carlos Alcaraz to headline an exhibition event with Jannik Sinner before the Australian Open 2026

Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner's rivalry had everyone on the edge of their seats in 2025. They contested some memorable matches this year, and all six of their meetings had a title on the line. The Spaniard walked away as the champion on four occasions.
Following their pre-season training, both Alcaraz and Sinner will head to South Korea for an exhibition event. The Hyundai Card Super Match will be held in Incheon on January 10, 2026. This will be their only pitstop before the Australian Open 2026, which will run from January 18 to February 1.
Alcaraz is bidding to complete the Career Grand Slam at the Australian Open. Sinner, on the other hand, is bidding to claim a hat-trick of titles. The two have won the past eight Majors, and have contested the final of the last three Majors. Another showdown between them to start the season wouldn't be surprising to witness.
