Jannik Sinner talks about his introduction to F1, reveals the driver most similar to him

Jannik Sinner was present at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix to watch the final race of the season unfold live. While there, the Italian discussed his introduction to the world of Formula One, telling the F1 Paddock Club,
“Well you know, I live in Monaco since six years, so obviously the race in Monaco is extremely important. Six years ago is I feel like the first time where I went into Formula One and now I'm a huge fan.”
Sinner went on to name the driver who he feels is the most similar to him, saying,
“Yes, obviously the mental is really, really important. If I would choose one, I would say maybe George (Russell). He is very relaxed, obviously very, very focused and concentrated during his race. Very similar to me.”
The tennis star also discussed the fashion sense of the F1 drivers and picked Charles Leclerc as his favorite, adding,
“I mean fashion is getting more and more important in every sport I feel. I like the style of Charles, he's very loose, loose things with his clothes. But there are obviously many, many other drivers so it's very difficult to pick one.”
On the tennis end of things, Jannik Sinner enjoyed an incredible 2025 season. After winning the Australian Open and the Wimbledon trophies, the former World No.1 ended his year on a high with a title finish at the ATP Finals.
