Jessica Pegula, the World No. 6 in women's singles tennis and the daughter of Terry and Kim Pegula, the billionaire owners of Buffalo Bills, recently expressed her amusement over an iconic quote from the NFL team's renowned quarterback Josh Allen. The quote resurfaced following a viral touchdown involving Allen.
On Sunday, November 16, the Bills came out on top against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, with Allen scoring six touchdowns. During the sixth of those touchdowns, the 29-year-old quarterback was heard laughing in a rather maniacal manner. The moment didn't take long to gain traction among fans.
Later, on Wednesday, November 19, the official Instagram handle of the Bills posted a Reel featuring Josh Allen's viral touchdown. In the Reel, before the touchdown itself was shown, there was a powerful quote from the quarterback, which he said in September this year. The quote was all about Allen highlighting the toughness of American football and how the Bills possess "sickos" in their lineup who always want to win.
"This is a tough sport. It’s not for everybody. You’ve got to be a little sick to love this game. And we’ve got some sickos," Allen said in September 2025.
Jessica Pegula subsequently shared the Reel as an Instagram Story and captioned it with three teary-eyed laughing emojis.

Jessica Pegula once confessed to drawing inspiration from Josh Allen

In 2021, Jessica Pegula reached the quarterfinals of a Grand Slam for the first time at that year's edition of the Australian Open. After securing progress to the last eight of the Melbourne Major, Pegula told reporters how Josh Allen inspired her to compete at her best on the tennis court.
"Even last year, when he wasn't playing that well, I was like, 'I like this kid.' I loved his competitive spirit. He was a gamer. He just wanted to win. That's something you love to see. It's definitely something I think I tried to take into my game a little bit, even watching the team getting that grit, that competitive attitude, having that mindset; in tennis, it's like 90%, sometimes, of the matches," Pegula said.
The 31-year-old's 2025 tennis season yielded three singles titles, and she capped it off with a fine run at the year-end WTA Finals, where she reached the semifinals before bowing out with a defeat at the hands of eventual champion Elena Rybakina.
