Rodman sustained an MCL sprain during a showdown between the Washington Spirits and Monterrey at the Concacaf W Champions Cup. Shortly after that incident, she left the field on crutches and is recovering. However, the brutal injury couldn't shake her spirits, as she had already hit the gym and started her recovery training.

Most recently, Rodman shared a glimpse of her training session, revealing her recovery process on Instagram. She shared a video of herself doing side lunges with weights and a fracture pad on her right knee and calf. Making her feelings known about her recovery, she wrote:

Following the unfortunate incident, Shelton sat for a press conference, where he expressed his feelings about the injury, revealing that it was painful. He added that he was not the person who would retire if he could continue.

“Yeah, really high (pain level). Not sure. You know, I never retired before. I'm not a guy who would retire if I could continue. Usually I'll play through anything and just kind of find a way. And whether it's sickness or injury, like, if I can stay out there, I can stay out there. I've never felt anything like this before. So, yeah, that was. That was kind of tough, I guess, the uncertainty," said Ben Shelton, via ATP Tour.

Shelton further spoke about his positive mindset despite suffering from a painful injury:

“Yeah, I mean, I got a lot to be grateful for. Been pretty fortunate. My life, blessings, talents, a lot of things God's given me. And, you know, a small setback like this. Yeah, it hurts. Yeah, I was playing really well. I was in form, a lot of confidence. Just so many things to be happy with, the way that I was playing, moving on the court, competing.”

Ben Shelton is now completely recovered and has competed in the Shanghai Masters and the Swiss Indoors following this injury.
