Ben Shelton's girlfriend Trinity Rodman back in her happy place again after tears-filled end to NWSL season finalé

Ben Shelton's girlfriend Trinity Rodman was seemingly back in a positive mood recently after experiencing a rather disheartening moment at the NWSL season finale, where Gotham FC pipped Washington Spirit to the crown. In the aftermath of the defeat, Rodman broke down in tears on boyfriend Shelton's shoulders.

On Sunday, November 23, Washington Spirit conceded a late goal and went on to lose the NWSL Championship at the last hurdle for the second straight year, and that too by the same margin. Heartbroken, Rodman made her way to Shelton, who was waiting pitchside. Subsquently, the USWNT forward turned emotional as the ATP star did his very best to console the soccer star.

More recently, on Tuesday, December 2, Ben Shelton's girlfriend Trinity Rodman took to her Instagram Stories and from her posts, it was evident that the 23-year-old was in a much better mood. The first post was a picture of Rodman walking a dalmatian with the caption:

"My bestie 🐕❤️"

In the next Instagram Story, Rodman excitedly announced to her followers that until Christmas this year, she will be putting out daily vlogs. This particular post was captioned:

"Doing vlogmas 👀👀👀 Video everyday until Christmas 😘😘 Stay tuned for constant content for yall on my YouTube"

Following Washington Spirit's loss to Gotham FC in the final of the 2025 NWSL Championship, Trinity Rodman reflected on her underwhelming performance. The USWNT forward, on the night, came on as a second-half substitute due to an injury she was dealing with ahead of the match. The 23-year-old said:

"I think naturally only having nine minutes going into a final is not ideal. As much as I don't want to admit it, I still don't feel like I was my full self tonight, which sucks. I feel like this is the second year I've gone to a final not I feeling myself. So it just makes me sad. But yeah, for me, I was just trying to go out there and do what I could. I definitely underperformed."

Meanwhile, Rodman's boyfriend Ben Shelton had a bittersweet experience to finish his 2025 tennis season. The American made his debut at the prestigious year-end ATP Finals in Turin, Italy. However, he lost all three of his Round Robin phase matches to exit the tournament.
