Ashleigh Barty retired in March 2022 as World No. 1, and since then, she has welcomed two kids with professional golfer husband Garry Kissick. The couple, who tied the knot in July 2022, welcomed Hayden (2 years old now) and recently welcomed daughter Jordan (5 months).

Given that both the mother and father come from different professional backgrounds but are related to sport, there's always a question about which sport their children will follow. The same question was asked to Barty during her interview with Stellar regarding her two-year-old son, Hayden.

"He’s golf-mad," Barty revealed. “Well, he’s sport-mad. He’s such an outdoors kid – like I was, like a lot of Queensland kids are.”

Barty and Kissick reportedly met in 2016 at the Brookwater Golf & Country Club (in Queensland), where the golfer worked in golf operations/maintenance before becoming a PGA Trainee Professional around 2018.

They welcomed Hayden Barty‑Kissick in July 2023 and Jordan Barty‑Kissick in June. The two are leading a happy life with their two kids, as Barty said:

“Both my husband and I are very grateful that we’ve got two happy and healthy kids that have brought so much joy and chaos into our lives. It’s about appreciating the little things, and I’m certainly able to enjoy those little things each and every day. I’m very lucky.”

“Hayden is at a great age now," Barty said. "He understands the concept and loves it. He’s got four older cousins as well who help him along the way. It’s nice to just have a pretty quiet day, with the kids getting their presents.”

Barty also reveals that the family likes to watch cricket, particularly the Boxing Day test, scheduled between Australia and England as part of their ongoing Ashes test series.

“Then we get set for the Boxing Day Test. We all sit down and watch the cricket. That’s my dream Christmas,” Barty added.

It remains to be seen if, down the line, Hayden opts to explore the sport of tennis or their newborn daughter takes up the sport associated with her mother.
