Paula Badosa "plans to come back stronger" in 2026

After suffering a hip injury at the 2025 China Open, Paula Badosa opted to retire for the remainder of the season. She is facing several injuries, including the recurring back problem from earlier in the season.

Badosa shared the announcement on Instagram just a few days after her China Open retirement.

"There are times when I ask myself how I manage to keep going through the toughest moments. And the truth is, it's in those exact moments that I discover the deepest strength inside me," Badosa said. She had already missed several tournaments in 2025 because of injuries and therefore, she saw it fitting to hit full recovery mode so that he can be in her best version next season.

"No matter how many obstacles come my way, I promise you this: I will keep fighting, I will keep pushing, and I will keep finding my way back," Badosa added. "See you in 2026."

Badosa is planning to come back stronger in 2026, but it remains to be seen if her injuries delay her return to the court.
