The match will be taking place at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai on December 28. The announcement was met with disapproval from both prominent tennis personalities and tennis fans alike.

Recently, McNamee made his feelings known about the rules for the exhibition match between the Belarusian and the Aussie. Highlighting the rule that the court dimensions will be nine percent smaller on Sabalenka's side, McNamee wrote on X:

"Well… changing the dimensions of the court to being a smaller target for the guy, and not letting him have a first serve, says everything you need to know about this tbh."

One of the users took a dig at Sabalenka and Kyrgios' version of the Battle of the Sexes, writing:

"The Battle of the Sexes has a significant place in tennis history. In Aryna Sabalenka and Nick Kyrgios' version, it's unclear what is at stake, beyond the commoditisation of the name — and an invitation to criticize women's tennis after either result."

This garnered the attention of Stubbs. She compared the current generation's match to the clash between Billie Jean King and Bobby Riggs. It took place in 1973. She wrote:

"Yeah the one 50 years ago! Not this...."

Exuding confidence in himself, the Aussie said that the world No. 1 won't be able to beat him at the Battle of the Sexes clash. When Bublik said that the Belarusian had the caliber to defeat him, the 30-year-old said:

"She's not going to beat me, brother. Do you really think I have to try 100%? I'm going to try (to beat Sabalenka). Definitely. I'm representing you, the men's side. I would say 6-2 maybe," Nick Kyrgios said.

This statement garnered a lot of backlash from tennis fans. They criticized the Australian for his comments. A few days after this comment, Sabalenka issued a playful warning for Nick Kyrgios. She told him to amp up for their battle.
