Ana Ivanovic has reportedly filed for divorce from husband Bastian Schweinsteiger The Serbian former WTA star and the former Germany soccer icon's seemingly happy marriage was thrown into turmoil earlier this year after the latter was photographed in a compromising position with another woman. Ivanovic married Schweinsteiger nine years ago, with the couple eventually becoming parents to three children.
In the summer of 2025, Schweinsteiger's shocking extramarital affair became common knowledge. What was even more shocking was that the German was having the affair in close proximity to his and Ivanovic's lavish home in Mallorca. Even though both the Serb and the German tried to keep a lid on their situation, it became evident that their once-happy romantic relationship had completely broken down.
Recently, German newspaper Bild have reported that former WTA No. 1 Ana Ivanovic, following months of rumors and speculation, has finally decided to file for a divorce from Bastian Schweinsteiger. The now-separated couple have three sons; Luka (born in 2018), Leon (born in 2019) and Theo (born in 2023).
"You are a wonderful woman and wife" - When Bastian Schweinsteiger penned a moving message for Ana Ivanovic following Serbian tennis star's retirement

In 2016, months after Ana Ivanovic's romantic Venice wedding with Bastian Schweinsteiger, the Serbian WTA icon made the decision to pull the curtains down on her illustrious tennis career, during which she won 15 career singles titles, including the 2008 French Open.
Following the former World No. 1's retirement decision, Schweinsteiger took to X and laid bare his "respect" for the Serb's call to put an end to her tennis-playing career. The German also called Ivanovic a "wonderful woman and wife," tweeting:
"My deepest respect for your decision to retire. You have always been an inspiration for others. Also, you are a wonderful woman and wife ❤️"
Ana Ivanovic herself hasn't broken her silence on the clearly chaotic situation surrounding her marriage to Bastian Schweinsteiger. However, the Serb's representative Christian Schertz made an announcement regarding her separation from the German in July, stating that there were 'irreconcilable differences' between the pair.
Meanwhile, Ivanovic has shared the occasional social media post since the news of her broken-down marriage made it to the public domain. For instance, in August, she took to Instagram to share a few pictures from a beach getaway during which she enjoyed her time soaking in the sun, building sandcastles and taking naps to reset her batteries.
