Alcaraz played against Tiafoe in the first singles match, and Pegula featured in the encounter against Anisimova in the second singles match. There was also a mixed doubles setup, involving all four players, with Pegula and Alcaraz pairing with each other.

During the exhibition match, Alcaraz had a hard time standing ahead near the net while Pegula was serving to the pairing of Tiafoe and Anisimova. At one point, Alcaraz just slept on the floor of the court to facilitate her serve. Anisimova reposted the moment on her Instagram story and wrote:

Amanda Anisimova credits taking break for her 2025 performance

Amanda Anisimova has had a career year in tennis in 2025, winning the title at Doha and Beijing while also reaching Grand Slam finals at Wimbledon and the US Open.

In her latest interview, she recalled the time back in 2022, when she decided to take a rest from tennis due to mental health and poor performance concerns.

The American star returned two years later in 2024, and at the time, she was even outside the WTA Top-400 rankings. In the span of two seasons, she has ascended to career-high rankings of World No. 4.

“The last few years have been just, honestly, so special, just to see how far it has come, to take my break, and then I feel like I almost restart my career in a way. I’ve just been growing into the person that I am today, and I feel like I’ve really been able to be more myself, and more free after the break that I took, and that’s really helped me to be more authentic,” she said via Tennis Up To Date.

Anisimova will hope to continue the momentum in 2026 and maybe become a Grand Slam winner.
