America's best college players have gathered at the USTA National Campus in Florida for the NCAA DI Individual Tennis Championships 2025. The marquee event will be held from November 18-23.

The tournament is a pretty good indicator of predicting who will make it big on the ATP and WTA Tours in the future. Danielle Collins, Ben Shelton, Emma Navarro, and Bob Bryan are some of the most notable winners of the singles championships in the past.

This is a great opportunity for young talent to prove their mettle. As they embark upon one of the most exciting journeys of their careers so far, here's a look at four of the most prominent storylines to follow at this year's NCAA DI Individual Tennis Championships:

#1. Micheal Zheng bidding for a successful title defense

It has been well over a decade since a successful title defense on the men's side. Steve Johnson was the last player to claim back-to-back singles titles, doing so in 2011 and 2012 while representing USC. Columbia's Michael Zheng will now aim to follow in his footsteps with a successful title defense.

Aside from his collegiate career, Zheng has also set his sights on conquering the professional tour. He won his maiden title on the Challenger Tour in August, which also marked the first of his three consecutive titles. His 15-match winning streak came to an end at the hands of Johannus Monday in the first round of the Sioux Falls Challenger.

Zheng peaked at No. 180 in the ATP rankings in October. His experience on the Challenger Tour will certainly aid him in his title defense as the young American seeks to make history for Columbia.

#2. Three pairs of sisters usher in a new era of sibling rivalry

When the words tennis and sisters are used together in a sentence, the Williams sisters immediately are at the forefront of one's mind. Venus and Serena Williams shook up the tennis world with their talent and achievements. A new generation of sisters will now aim to dazzle the world with their skills.

Three pairs of sisters will compete in the NCAA DI Individual Tennis Championships in the women's singles draw. Siblings Piper and Emma Charney, Gabia and Kristina Paskauskas, and Annabelle and Naomi Xu are all looking for glory this time.

The Xu sisters are the only pair in the same half of the draw, with a potential quarterfinal date on the horizon, while the other two pairs can only meet in the final. None of the sisters have previously faced off against each other, so should it happen here, then it will be a memorable moment for them.

#3. Savannah Dada-Mascoll bidding to continue her good run of form

Appalachian State's Savannah Dada-Mascoll has been on a roll over the past few months. She has a 10-1 record across various collegiate events and has secured herself a No. 4 seeding in the NCAA DI Individual Tennis Championships.

Dada-Mascoll's dominance was restricted to the Sun Belt Conference for the past three years. However, she has taken the college tennis world by storm with her impressive results since the start of her senior year. She won the ITA Carolina Regional Championships over a month ago. She will be eager to demonstrate her growth against some fierce competition over the course of this week.

#4. Jay Friend and Valerie Glozman looking to back up their ITA All-American Championships titles

Jay Friend and Valerie Glozman reigned supreme at the ITA All-American Championships earlier this year. Entering as the top seeds in the men's and women's singles draws at the NCAA DI Individual Tennis Championships, the duo will aim to replicate their prior success.

Friend will aim to script for University of Arizona by becoming the first man to win the singles title. Glozman, on the other hand, will aim to bring the trophy back to Stanford for the first time since 2013, when Nicole Gibbs claimed her second consecutive title. With the best of the best gathered here, they have their tasks cut out for them.
