Carlos Alcaraz vs Felix Auger-Aliassime preview

World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz will face eighth seed Felix Auger-Aliassime in the semifinals of the ATP Finals 2025.
Alcaraz scored a 7-6 (5), 6-2 win over Alex de Minaur to begin his ATP Finals campaign with a win. He then survived a stern test from Taylor Fritz to beat him 6-7 (2), 7-5, 6-3. He was up against Lorenzo Musetti in his final match of the group stage.
A fairly competitive first set went Alcaraz's way courtesy of a single break of serve. He sprinted towards the finish line after that, conceding only one game in the second set for a 6-4, 6-1 win.
Auger-Aliassime's time in Turin started with a 7-5, 6-1 loss against Jannik Sinner. He bounced back with a hard-fought 4-6, 7-6 (7), 7-5 win over Ben Shelton. He took on Alexander Zverev in his final group tie.
The two were evenly matched for most of the opening set, until Auger-Aliassime pulled ahead with a three-game run to take the set. Neither player made any inroads on the other's serve for most of the second set, leading to a tie-break. The Canadian came out on top in it for a 6-4, 7-6 (4) win.

Carlos Alcaraz vs Felix Auger-Aliassime prediction

After a fierce battle against Fritz, Alcaraz put his best foot forward to cruise past Musetti in his final group tie. He didn't drop his serve even once, and won 83 percent of his first serve points. He also hit 26 winners against 21 unforced errors.
Alcaraz clinched the year-end No. 1 ranking following his win over Musetti as well. He has reached the semifinals of the ATP Finals for the second time in his career, following his previous last-four finish in 2023. He improved his record for the season to 70-8, and to 16-3 against top 10 players.
Auger-Aliassime dispatched Zverev to book his spot in the ATP Finals semifinals for the first time in his career. He won 74 percent of points behind his first serve, and struck 24 winners compared to 27 unforced errors. His record for the season now stands at 50-23, while going 7-6 against top 10 opponents.
Auger-Aliassime initially proved to be a thorn in Alcaraz's side, winning their first three career meetings. The latter has since flipped the script, claiming their next four encounters, with the most recent being a 6-1, 6-1 beatdown at last year's Olympics.
However, Auger-Aliassime is 2-0 against Alcaraz on indoor hardcourts. Given his current form and this being an indoors match, this will be his best chance to upset him. However, Alcaraz has proven to be a cut above the rest for most of the season. Based on what we've seen from each player, the Spaniard will be the favorite to win this showdown.
Pick: Carlos Alcaraz to win in three sets.
