Ben Shelton and Alexander Zverev's fathers also double up as their primary coaches. With both gunning for their maiden Major title next year, they could invest in a new coach before the end of 2025.
Emma Raducanu and Jack Draper have both signed up to represent Great Britain at the United Cup 2026. However, their history with injuries could prevent that from happening.
Aryna Sabalenka and Nick Kyrgios are set to entertain fans with the latest edition of the Battle of the Sexes later this month. While most have predicted the Aussie to win, the Belarusian could flip the script. On that note, here's further elaboration on the aforementioned bold ideas related to tennis for December 2025:
#1. Ben Shelton to potentially add Andre Agassi to his coaching team
Ben Shelton is currently coached by his father, Bryan, who's a former tennis pro himself. Dean Goldfine is also a part of his coaching setup as a traveling coach. The current arrangement has worked out quite well for the 23-year-old, who captured his maiden Masters 1000 title and cracked the top five in 2025.
Shelton will now be keen to make a splash at the Majors. In order to do so, he could add another super coach to his team, someone who knows what it takes to go all the way at a Major. Andre Agassi fits the bill perfectly.
Agassi previously coached Novak Djokovic and Grigor Dimitrov. He also captained Team World at this year's Laver Cup, leading them to victory in his first stint at the helm of the proceedings. He bonded pretty well with everyone on his team, and his chemistry with everyone was palpable.
Under Agassi's guidance, Shelton has the potential to take his career to the next level. He has already reached a couple of Major semifinals, and could end up hoisting the winner's trophy with Agassi in his corner.
#2. Alexander Zverev likely to relieve his father of his coaching responsibilities

Alexander Zverev has been primarily coached by his father, Alexander Zverev Sr., for most of his career. His brother, retired player Mischa Zverev, is also a part of his coaching team at the moment. Ivan Lendl, Juan Carlos Ferrero, and David Ferrer also had brief stints as his coach along with his father in the past.
Zverev has accomplished a lot in his career but a Grand Slam crown has remained out of his grasp. With the current dominance of Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, who have won the past eight Majors, his window of opportunity to claim one shrinks with every passing tournament.
Zverev could feel the need to move out of his comfort zone and bring in new voices who could lead him to the elusive Major title. As such, he could announce a new coach over the next couple of weeks before the start of the new season.
#3. Emma Raducanu and Jack Draper to possibly withdraw from the United Cup 2026
Emma Raducanu and Jack Draper will lead Team Great Britain at the United Cup 2026. However, with their tryst with injuries, it is quite possible for either, or even both, to pull out of the tournament.
Draper shut down his 2025 season following his withdrawal from the US Open due to an arm injury. Despite being in recovery for over three months, he recently withdrew from an exhibition event he was supposed to participate in.
Raducanu's body held up well this year, though she had to deal with some physical issues from time to time. With the Brits hedging their bets on their best, albeit injury-prone players, their United Cup campaign could be in disarray if the two stars suffer any setbacks.
#4. Aryna Sabalenka to potentially one-up Nick Kyrgios in the Battle of the Sexes

Aryna Sabalenka and Nick Kyrgios will lock horns in the latest iteration of the Battle of the Sexes on December 28, 2025, at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai. Billie Jean King's victory over Bobby Riggs in the second edition of the Battle of the Sexes in 1973 remains etched in everyone's minds.
This will be the fourth prominent edition of the Battle of the Sexes. King remains the only woman to win, while Margaret Court and Martina Navratilova lost to Riggs and Jimmy Connors, respectively, in the debut and third edition of the event.
Sabalenka will now aim to follow in King's footsteps and emerge victorious as well. She has been one of the most dominant players on the women's tour for the past three years. Kyrgios has barely played any matches for the last two years on account of his injuries.
Sabalenka is also one of the most powerful hitters on the tour. She certainly is capable of going toe-to-toe with Kyrgios, and if she plays her best, then perhaps she could even get the better of him.
