Alycia Parks will lock horns with Anna Blinkova in the quarterfinals of the Jiangxi Open on Friday.

Parks defeated Kaja Juvan in the Round of 16 to register her first back-to-back wins since her semifinal run in the Monterrey Open. The American surprisingly lost the opening set 1-6 against Juvan, but made an impressive comeback to take the match 1-6, 6-1, 6-1. In the opening round, Parks had received a walkover from the home favorite Zhu Lin.

The 24-year-old has had a disappointing season so far, with a 17-28 win-loss record in singles. Parks has struggled heavily on the hardcourts, especially in the Asia swing, with first-round exits in Osaka, Beijing, Seoul, and Wuhan. She is seeded third in the Jiangxi Open, the last WTA 250 event of the season, and is looking to reach her only third semifinal this season.

Anna Blinkova, on the other hand, upset the sixth-seed, Anna Bondar, in the previous match. The Russian registered a hard-fought 7-6(4), 7-5 win to end her wait for the back-to-back match wins since her quarterfinal exit at the Eastbourne Open in June this year. She had defeated Chloe Paquet in the opening round of the Jiangxi Open.
