The 2025 Tennis season had its share of thrills, with Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner, the top two players in the world, sharing the spoils. Sinner won the Australian Open, Wimbledon, and ATP Tour Finals, while Alcaraz bagged the French Open and US Open titles.
The 2026 season promises to be an even better one, with a few youngsters making their mark in the tennis world. On that note, let us take a look at five bold predictions for the 2026 Tennis season:
#5. Iga Swiatek going slamless
Swiatek won the Wimbledon title in 2025, but her form since has not been very encouraging. With Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff going strong, she might find herself without a Major title in 2026.
With new stars like Mirra Andreeva making their presence felt, it might be difficult for Swiatek to win a Major. She will still be one of the favorites at the French Open, at least on her favored clay.
#4. Elena Rybakina shaking off the one-slam wonder tag
Rybakina won her only Grand Slam at Wimbledon 2022. However, the 26-year-old has not since been able to add to her tally of Grand Slams.
She might be able to break her jinx next year. It will not be easy for the Kazakh, who has won 11 WTA titles in her career so far. She reached the semifinals of Wimbledon in 2024 and will be one of the favorites to win the title next year.
#3. Carlos Alcaraz not winning more than one Grand Slam in the year
Alcaraz has won a couple of Grand Slams in 2025. However, Jannik Sinner's improvement on natural surfaces might prove to be a great obstacle for the 22-year-old Spaniard in the upcoming year.
Alcaraz might struggle to win more than one Grand Slam in 2026. Fatigue could be a factor, and so could be the improvement of a number of other players.
#2. Novak Djokovic winning the 25th Grand Slam
Djokovic will turn 39 in May 2026, and many might argue that time has already run out for him to win the 25th Major.
However, the good thing for the Serb is that he still managed to make it deep into Grand Slams, with mainly Jannik Sinner coming in the way of him and the title. That is a major problem, but Djokovic might have one last Major left in him at his favorite Melbourne Park or Wimbledon.
#1. Jannik Sinner winning the Channel Slam
Jannik Sinner won Wimbledon and lost the French Open final against Alcaraz. Sinner has established himself as one of the best players on hard courts but has been improving steadily with his consistent approach on natural surfaces.
The Italian might do it this time around, with his game on clay improving with the experience he has been gaining. He might have Djokovic and Alcaraz standing in his way at Wimbledon, but he might still go on to achieve the feat.
