Journalist and podcaster Pablo Torre recently claimed that Tom McMillen blocked him on social media after the podcaster questioned him about his alleged connection to convicted s*x offender Jeffrey Epstein.

For the uninitiated, McMillen is a basketball star who was part of the United States' men's basketball team at the 1972 Olympics in Munich. Following an 11-year stint at the NBA, McMillen switched to politics and served as Maryland’s 4th district representative in the United States Congress between 1987 and 1993.

Tom McMillen appeared on Torre's Pablo Torre Finds Out podcast on the episode titled Exclusive: The NBA Player, the Congressman and the Epstein Files, which aired on December 2, 2025. In the podcast, Torre asked him about the inclusion of his name on Epstein's 1993 flight log.

McMillen answered some of the questions before urging the journalist to move on and abruptly concluding their conversation. On December 3, 2025, Pablo Torre posted a screenshot of Tom McMillen's X profile, where he appeared to have blocked the journalist.

Tom McMillen, who joined Pablo Torre's podcast interview via a video call, claimed that the information linking him to Epstein wasn't accurate, before adding that he didn't recall.

While Torre continued that McMillen's name on the flight log was noted as “Tom McMillen (Congressman)” for a trip from Washington, D.C., to Atlanta to Palm Beach, Florida, the former NBA star replied, "not true." He asked Torre to move on to another topic before telling the journalist that he wanted to end their conversation.

“Please, can we move on? I thought we were talking about sports and stuff. This is stuff from 35 years ago. I don’t have any relationships here... I’m going to leave. I’m sorry, I wanted to talk about the good things and some of the things about college sports and so forth. This is so long ago. I bet you don’t recall 35 years ago. So, let’s sign off,” he said.

In his final comment, McMillen said he did not have "any relationship with [Epstein] since the early ‘90s," claiming that he "barely knew him."

Tom McMillen explained his appearance at the 1992 party with Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein

In 2019, NBC released a 1992 video of an NFL party hosted by Donald Trump at Mar-a-Lago, which was attended by Jeffrey Epstein, Ghislaine Maxwell, and Tom McMillen. In the clip, McMillen is seen arriving at the party at the same time as Epstein, and is later spotted talking to Maxwell.

The former NBA star addressed the clip during his appearance on Pablo Torre's podcast, adding:

“I was coming to a party at Mar-a-Lago. Trump had just bought it. I’m walking in with my girlfriend, and there’s Trump and Epstein there. What happened was that Trump was throwing an NFL party...So I literally just walked into that."

"The reason there were cameras there is that Trump was promoting the NFL and promoting his club, typical Donald Trump stuff … It just so happens, and I will walk in, there’s Trump and Epstein in the front of the house," he said.

Tom McMillen further added that he knew Epstein "a bit" and might have "might have run into him in Palm Beach or somewhere in the early ’90s." He also claimed that he lost touch with him years ago, adding that the party happened a long time ago and he didn't remember much.

He also recalled speaking with Maxwell, but claimed that he barely knew her, saying:

“I was kind of saying pleasantries to people and moving on. You walk in, you say hello to everybody. I didn’t really know Ghislaine very well. It’s just the irony of that if it hadn’t been the NFL thing, there wouldn’t have been any cameras. So, I mean, I think that’s the only picture that I’ve ever been in with Trump and Epstein and all that crowd.”
