Anne Hathaway was the latest celebrity to be arrested at Sabrina Carpenter's ongoing "Short n' Sweet Tour." For the uninitiated, Carpenter "arrests" someone in a recurring segment at her shows before performing her hit song Juno. During her October 26 concert at Madison Square Garden in New York City, Hathaway caught Carpenter's eye as the singer scanned the crowd to "arrest" someone. The Espresso singer pretended not to recognize the actress and asked her name and where she was from. Hathaway replied that she was from Genovia, a nod to her popular movie franchise, The Princess Diaries, in which she played Mia Thermopolis, the princess of the fictional country of Genovia. Carpenter then "arrested" Hathaway for being "the most perfect princess in the world," offering her a pair of fuzzy pink handcuffs."I just don’t know what to do when I see a face like that in the crowd...Has anyone ever told you, you look like a princess? I'm in the presence of a princess, I'm getting so flustered... Anne, can I arrest you for being the most perfect princess in the world?" However, in an exclusive report on July 8, 2025, Variety noted that The Devil Wears Prada 2 will focus on Miranda Priestly's career amid the "decline of traditional magazine publishing." She reportedly faces off against her former assistant Emily Charlton (played by Emily Blunt), who is now "a high-powered executive for a luxury group, with advertising dollars that Priestly desperately needs.” It is unclear how Anne Hathaway's character fits into the plot.
