Playboi Carti recently claimed that he would have become an NBA player if he had not chosen to become a rapper. The Atlanta emcee, who is currently on his "Antagonist 2.0 Tour," took to his alternate Instagram account, @opium_00pium, to post stills from his latest tour stop.

The carousel post included a picture of Carti with a young boy, the rapper's interactions with fans, and still shots of the crowd. The post was captioned:

"IT WAS EITHER DA NBA OR DIS RAP S**T. BLESSED LIKE MF. 2.0."

Following this, several fans took to X to express their disbelief that Carti could have made it to the NBA, with one user writing:

"He was averaging 3-3-2 in high school btw."

Several netizens expressed similar opinions, with many saying that the "rap s**t" was the only thing Carti had.

Meanwhile, others looked incredulous at Carti's claim, questioning who told him he could have made it as an NBA player.

Playboi Carti is currently on his "Antagonist 2.0 Tour," with his Opium label affiliates Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang serving as supporting acts. The tour was originally scheduled for 2023 but was postponed multiple times and ultimately canceled.

In March 2025, Playboi Carti released his highly anticipated album, Music, and announced the "Antagonist 2.0 Tour." This followed his extensive tour throughout 2024 and 2025, opening for The Weeknd's "After Hours Til Dawn Tour."

Playboi Carti's ongoing tour started in Salt Lake City on October 3, 2025. During his October 14 show in Los Angeles, he brought out Kendrick Lamar and A$AP Rocky as special guests. According to Billboard, Rocky appeared while Carti performed Long Time from his 2018 album, Die Lit.

Meanwhile, Lamar took the stage for a joint performance of Good Credit, one of the three tracks featured on Carti's Music album. The "Antagonist 2.0 Tour" is set to conclude at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on December 1, 2025. Additionally, Carti has been teasing a new album titled Baby Boi, which, according to DJ Swamp Izzo, is "ready" and "done."

In an interview with Complex in April 2025, Izzo mentioned that the rapper had recorded 50 to 60 songs for the upcoming project.

“New music. He got over 50, 60 songs done. Completed to his liking? I couldn’t say. But they’re done. If I was still in that mixtape era, we’d have Baby Boi one through nine. Fifteen years ago, we were so heartfelt on them exclusives. We couldn’t even sleep until we put it out before everybody.”

Izzo, who also worked with Carti on Music, claimed the rapper and his team, including himself, were in the recording studio working on the project until it was released on streaming platforms.

“We recorded all the way up to the album actually came out. So when they dropped at 7 a.m., we were still in the studio, on everything I love,” he added.

Along with his ongoing tour and upcoming album, Playboi Carti is also scheduled to headline Lollapalooza India 2026 with his Opium affiliates Ken Carson, Destroy Lonely, and Homixide Gang.

According to Variety, American rock band Linkin Park will join Carti as co-headliner of the music festival, set to take place in Mumbai on January 24 and 25, 2026. Other performers on the lineup include Yungblud, Kehlani, LANY, and Mother Mother, among others.

Playboi Carti's next show as part of his "Antagonist 2.0 Tour" is set for October 28, 2025, at Nationwide Arena in Columbus, Ohio.
