The Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings are set for their first matchup of the year, and thus far, it has been a case of haves and have-nots. The Vikings have not had a reliable quarterback, while Detroit has been able to coast with Jared Goff. However, your fantasy team might not be in shape to coast with anyone, and nor should it be.

Even the best teams need to start and sit players on a changing basis. Here's a guide to the Minnesota-Detroit showdown and who you should give the green and red lights to.

Amon-Ra St. Brown is a set-and-forget WR1, and it's the same case in Week 9. Don't expect a 40-point game out of the receiver, but he'll take care of business enough to reward those who started him. With Detroit likely to spend much of the game up on the scoreboard, expect a healthy dose of both Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery with multiple redzone opportunities.

Detroit's defense should also have a good day, so if you have them or need a streamer, you could do worse than Detroit. The only question is whether Aidan Hutchinson's brand-new $180 million deal (Spotrac) will cause him to let off the gas or play distracted. Otherwise, this is set up to be a case of the Vikings offense being outmatched by the Lions defense.

For the Vikings, Justin Jefferson will be the most reliable option available to start.

Jordan Addison could make sense as well, as the Vikings are likely to spend plenty of time trailing, which will force J.J. McCarthy to throw more than he might want, but his ability to consistently deliver multi-read throws is far from guaranteed in the NFL.

Don't expect a big day from the Minnesota Vikings' running back room. Not only is the game likely to go in a way to discourage running the ball, but the situation between Jordan Mason and Aaron Jones is a nightmare for fantasy. The two essentially split carries against the Chargers, with less than ten carries total between the two backs. Expect a similar workload for both against Detroit.

There could be plenty of three-and-outs and a few turnovers made by the Vikings, which is set up to put the team's defense in a hole. Meaning, the team's defense could be set up to fail and should be avoided if possible.
