The Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts are set to face off in one of the premier matchups of Week 14. The lead in the AFC South is at stake as the former number one seed Colts face the rising Jaguars, and fantasy football managers are hoping for a shootout. Of course, fantasy football managers are usually hoping for a shootout in which picking players is easy.

If a shootout doesn't materialize, however, which players should you prioritize starting in the contest? Let's take a look.

Jaguars vs. Colts Fantasy Football Week 14 Start 'Em Picks

Both starting running backs are in for notable days. As such, start Jonathan Taylor and Travis Etienne Jr. Of course, don't expect Taylor's best game of the season against the stiff Jacksonville Jaguars rushing defense. However, the back will still be relevant in fantasy football.

Expect the wide receivers to get their own slice of the fantasy football pie as well. Prioritize Jakobi Meyers and Alec Pierce above all others. However, both tight ends should see plenty of work as well, so go with Tyler Warren.

If you must start a quarterback in the contest and have the option between Daniel Jones and Trevor Lawrence, go with Jones. The Colts' secondary isn't in the best shape, with Sauce Gardner likely to "miss some time," according to Colts head coach Shane Steichen, via a Monday ESPN report. As such, Jones' arm is set for a better day.

While there are plenty of names to start in the contest on both sides, there are others who should be avoided. Brian Thomas Jr. and Michael Pittman Jr. should both be avoided this week. Neither has managed to have routine big games, and both have struggled against defenses that have prioritized stopping them.

As such, don't waste hope on trying to finally get a breakout game from either player unless you are desperate.

With Sauce Gardner set to miss the contest, don't start the Indianapolis Colts defense if you can help it. It can only take one or two big runs by Jonathan Taylor to drop the unit's point total significantly. You can likely find better defenses on the waiver wire.
