As the Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans likely know, it's Week 12, which means the number of traditional primetime games is starting to run low. When it comes to primetime fantasy football matchups, there are even fewer. As such, it's time to savor the remaining opportunities, but there are still decisions to be made for fantasy football managers.
Here's a look at players to start and players to sit for the Bills' matchup against the Texans.

Josh Allen doesn't have Stefon Diggs anymore, but fantasy football managers wouldn't know that. Allen hasn't seen fewer than 20 points in most leagues since Week 6. No matter the matchup, the quarterback seems to be the winning horse.
However, while Allen might have a good game, Houston's defense will have its way with the rest of the roster. As such, starting the unit should be a relatively safe play.
Houston is likely to trail for much of the contest, which will put the ball in the hands of Nico Collins and Jayden Higgins. As such, starting either receiver against a Bills defense that has been up and down this season isn't the worst idea in the world.
Must Starts
- Texans D/ST
- Nico Collins
- Jayden Higgins
- Josh Allen
Bills vs. Texans Fantasy Football Week 12 Sit 'Em Picks

While starting some of the players is not the worst idea in the world, starting others might be. Chief among those to skip would be Khalil Shakir. Shakir turned in just one catch for -3 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in a game that saw the Buffalo Bills score 44 points.
It is now clear that Keon Coleman is required on the field to open things up for Shakir, and the receiver is set to be benched for a second-straight contest, per Erik Turner of Cover 1 via Pro Football Talk in a Wednesday report. With Coleman likely out again, expect nothing from Shakir.
James Cook is also starting to slow down on the ground in a worrisome development. The receiver was able to salvage a double-digit performance on Sunday, but logged just 3.0 yards per carry in a second-straight performance that saw him finish with less than 55 rushing yards.
The Texans have one of the stiffest defenses in the NFL, so if you have another back you can trust for a game, use them.
Must Sits
- Khalil Shakir
- Keon Coleman
- Joshua Palmer
- Dawson Knox
- James Cook
- Davis Mills
