The Dodgers took the lead after catcher Will Smith's go-ahead home run in the top of the 11th before Yamamoto shut down the Blue Jays in the bottom frame to secure a 5-4 win.

The Japanese ace was named the World Series MVP for his remarkable performances in the Fall Classic, which included a complete game.
