Retired three-time Super Bowl champion Michael Irvin has shared his honest thoughts on the drama involving Malik Nabers and his deleted tweet about the New York Giants' coaching staff. After the wide receiver insinuated a betting scandal with his post, Irvin highlighted his understanding of Nabers' tweet on Monday's episode of the "Come and Talk 2 Me" podcast. He said that the Giants star had to delete the tweet because it could have turned into a full-blown investigation by the NFL."I'm sure that's why they made them take it down right away," Irvin said (Timestamp- 59:00). "Now, you're disparaging the league and you got inside information. People start believing. That's dangerous. That's a dangerous tweet but I'm sure he's talking about just decisions."I'm talking about just decisions because somebody tell you the odds are better this way over that way, but the person in that period doing the odds are just going by what happens with the numbers. And you have to read the scene in those situations."In his deleted tweet, Malik Nabers was visibly frustrated with the team's loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday. He then questioned whether the outcome of games in the league were predetermined."Sometimes I think they b making us lose on purpose!" Nabers wrote. "Cause it's no way, bro you throw the ball instead of runnin it to make them burn 2 timeouts?? then you dnt kick the field goal??? Then they have to go down and score!!!! Football common sense!!!! Am I missing something?"The Giants drafted Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. His second year with the team was cut short after he suffered an ACL tear in Week 4 against the Chargers. The wide receiver tallied 271 yards and two touchdowns receiving before his injury. The Giants have had an underwhelming campaign so far. They fired coach Brian Daboll after a 2-8 start, with Mike Kafka taking over as the interim head coach. Despite this, they continue to struggle on the field. Following Sunday's loss, the Giants are 2-10 with a six-game losing streak.Boomer Esiason and Gregg Giannotti share their thoughts on Malik Nabers' deleted postOn Monday, Boomer Esiason and Gregg Giannotti discussed Malik Nabers' deleted tweet questioning his team's play calling in Week 12."He's not wrong, I can tell you that," Esiason said. "The thing that I love about that is that he's invested. He's watching. And he should be watching."We all love him as a player, as a pick. He's gonna be a huge part of this team's future," Giannotti said. "But it's like none of that stuff helps the situation, you know, when you star player is sitting there saying that your team, the coaches in charge don't have any common sense."The Giants will next face the New England Patriots on Monday at 8:15 p.m. ET.
