“Women took a lot from me”: LeSean McCoy gets brutally honest on what success cost him on Joy Taylor’s podcast

LeSean McCoy is considered one of the finest running backs to grace the NFL. He played in the league for 12 years before retiring in October 2021.

While McCoy had a largely successful career in the NFL, he recently opened up about his personal life issues to former FS1 anchor Joy Taylor.

"You know, the enjoyment out of success, like, you think there's so much joy and you think so much happiness, and a lot of people close to me, friends, women, they took a lot of that from me," McCoy said on Taylor's "Two Personal Show" on Thursday (8:18). "And I think because I was so successful at such a young age, a lot of them took a lot of that from me. So, the enjoyment of like, 'Man, I made it,' and then you start finding out things and this and that.

"It's like, dang, I'm happy, but I think I don't wanna say I was happier when I wasn't successful or had money. But, I just thought it would be better. ... People steal your success."

In July 2018, McCoy's was accused of being responsible for a violent attack on his ex-girlfriend, Delicia Cordon, hours after a home invasion left the woman bruised and bloodied. It was reported that a man assaulted Cordon and stole $133,000 worth of jewelry from the home.

In December 2019, McCoy settled the lawsuit that was filed against him.

The Philadelphia Eagles took LeSean McCoy in the second round of the 2009 NFL draft. He played with them for six years before being traded to the Buffalo Bills in March 2015.

After a four-year stint with the Bills, McCoy signed with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019. He won the Super Bowl in his first and only season in Kansas City.

In 2020, McCoy signed with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, where he won the Super Bowl in his only season with them.

McCoy retired with six Pro Bowl selections and two Super Bowl rings.
