Kayla Nicole was left speechless after WNBA icon Kysre Gondrezick rewrote the playbook with her latest Playboy magazine photoshoot. The WNBA guard made history by becoming the first Black professional women’s basketball player to appear in Playboy.
She stars as Miss June 2025 in a retro-glam photoshoot. The former Indiana Fever and Chicago Sky player, now a free agent, showcased a blend of fashion, confidence, and basketball culture.
The shoot sparked an avalanche of reactions online, including from Kayla Nicole, who was speechless and summed up the moment with three fire emojis and no further commentary:
“I mean 🔥🔥🔥”

Gondrezick framed her time away from the court as a period of growth, not absence. She has described her journey as an “evolution,” while building a multidimensional brand beyond the world of basketball. She's known for her tunnel fits and fashion-forward presence in her playing days.
Gondrezick has previously shot for brands like Victoria’s Secret and made appearances at New York Fashion Week. She was drafted No. 4 overall in 2021 out of West Virginia.
Kayla Nicole gives POV on dating athletes
Kayla Nicole is making changes to her dating playbook, and athletes may no longer make the cut. During an appearance on the 'Tap In With Harry Jowsey' podcast, Travis Kelce's ex-girlfriend made it clear she’s ready for a different lane romantically.
When host Harry Jowsey mentioned he’s a part-owner of a professional rugby team in Los Angeles, Nicole immediately perked up, asking whether he had any owner friends.
“I keep saying I don’t want to date any more athletes,” Nicole said. (26:15)
She added that she’d be open to dating the people who actually run the teams. Jowsey then jokingly pointed to himself, and Nicole didn’t exactly shut the idea down, responding,
“Yeah, okay.”
The comments come years after Nicole’s publicized, on-and-off five-year relationship with Kelce that ended in 2022. Lately, she has been repeatedly pulled back into NFL-adjacent conversations, whether through fan speculation, social media drama, or perceived digs, including her Toni Braxton-inspired Halloween costume, which many interpreted as a subtle shot at Kelce and Taylor Swift.
