The Cleveland Browns announced on Wednesday that Dillon Gabriel would take over from Joe Flacco as the starting quarterback, with Shedeur Sanders remaining the third-string quarterback. When Sanders was asked about the decision, he mimed a response.Former NFL coach Bruce Arians gave his take on Sanders' response during an appearance on "Up and Adams" on Thursday."Why is the 3rd quarterback getting interviews?" he questioned. "He had nothing to do with the game. He's a heck of a personality, but the personality can't come out until you do something on the field.""It’s a big week for Dillon Gabriel and a big week for the Browns, making that transition,” Arians added. “For him to even be able to the press, I don’t know why he’s doing it… There’s no sense in having him available. Whoever is running that media relations should turn that down.”Jason McCourty tells Shedeur Sanders to "grow up" after mime responseShedeur Sanders copped plenty of backlash from fans and analysts for the manner of his response. NFL insider Adam Schefter said Sanders' response was fueled by former Jets coach Rex Ryan, who accused the quarterback of "running his mouth."Former NFL player Jason McCourty said Sanders needed to be a bit more mature.“It’s hard for a guy like Shedeur where you’ve been a superstar for the majority of your life and you’ve been the one in the spotlight,” McCourty told Jim Rome. “Now, the media’s showing up in the locker room and the only time they’re coming to talk to you is not about your play."...I think there’s a maturity to it. You’ve got to grow up in the league. You may not always have the circumstances you anticipate or the ones that you want. But I don’t think those are the actions that you want possibly your future starting quarterback in the NFL to have at any point throughout the course of their career.”The Browns face the Minnesota Vikings in London on Sunday.
