Donald Trump is not the biggest Taylor Swift fan. The U.S. president had been at odds with the American pop star after she supported Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. Trump had even shared a post on Truth Social saying he “hates” Swift. However, after months of controversy between the two, the White House posted a video on its TikTok account featuring Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” from her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl. The video features photos of Trump, his wife, Melania Trump, Vice President J.D. Vance, and his wife, Usha Vance. The clip contains a mugshot of Trump from 2023, accompanied by the lyrics, “Don’t care where the hell you have been,” playing in the background. Next, it transitions to a picture of the president kissing the American flag with the lyrics, “’Cause now you’re mine.”The video also includes a picture of Trump at McDonald’s, with an overlay text on the screen reading:“The fate of America.”However, the original lyrics say:“The fate of Ophelia.”Swift and Trump have been involved in a long-time feud, so it came as a surprise when the White House shared a video featuring the Grammy winner’s song.Earlier this year, in April, Trump took a jibe at Swift’s fiancé, Travis Kelce, after the Kansas City Chiefs lost the 2025 Super Bowl to the Philadelphia Eagles."I was there along with Taylor Swift," Trump said. "How did that work out?......."How did that one work out?"Last year, after Swift supported Kamala Harris in the presidential election, Trump shared an AI-generated image of the singer in support of him.Donald Trump congratulated Taylor Swift on her engagement to Travis KelceIn August, Travis Kelce proposed to Swift in a dreamy garden he created in his backyard.
