Dallas Cowboys star Dak Prescott has established himself as one of the leading NFL quarterbacks over the last decade. However, Prescott had his fair share of trouble early in his career. In a video shared by Sports on Prime on TikTok, Prescott opened up about the racism he faced during his pre-draft visit to Dallas while being with Mississippi State."When I came for my visit to Dallas, there was a player in the training room, and I won't say the name, as I walked through, he asked me who I was. I said, 'Dak Prescott, quarterback, Mississippi State,' and he goes, 'Black quarterback? we won't have that.'"That's when I realized the impact that I could serve or have is, well, I guess the wall that I was going to be trying to break down if I got drafted by them. A couple of months later, when I was drafted, out and about on the town, introducing myself to a club promoter and she tells me again, 'We'll never have a black quarterback in Dallas.' "Prescott said the two incidents reminded him of the challenges he would face before starting his professional journey. He credited his mother for raising him the way she did."So those two times and those two moments, I realized what I was going to be facing and maybe the difficulties of it," Prescott said. "Race is something I've never really put into my head, and as I say, I give credit to the people before me. Credit to my mom, the way that I was raised is that, 'That's your problem. That's not my problem.'"Following Prescott's last college season with Mississippi State in 2015, the Cowboys selected him in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft.Dak Prescott shared 'sore' aspect of Cowboys' loss against Detroit LionsThe Cowboys' three-game winning streak ended after a 44-30 defeat against the Detroit Lions on Sunday.
