Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky put Josh Allen ahead of Matthew Stafford in the 2025 NFL MVP race. He made his case for the Buffalo Bills star on Monday.

"I would put him (Allen)and Matthew Stafford, right now, neck-and-neck for the MVP." Orlovsky said, via "Get Up."

Ex-Philadelphia Eagles linebacker Emmanuel Acho lashed out at Orlovsky on Tuesday for snubbing Stafford.

"I don't agree with Dan's take on Josh Allen," Acho said, via "Speakeasy." "Eventually, we have to draw a line. Like, number one, Josh Allen has had several dud games. Now he puts a team on his back, but like I watched Josh Allen versus Houston Texans, he's had several dud games.

"Josh Allen is different this year than last year. But this year, Matthew Stafford is the MVP unless Josh Allen and his team are exceptional. Can we continue to say, well, his team is really bad. His team is really bad. So long as Josh Allen makes the playoffs, he should be the MVP."

The Bills were down 21-0 against the Patriots on Sunday before Allen led a comeback to secure a 35-31 win.

Against Houston’s defense on Nov. 20, Allen was intercepted twice and failed to record a touchdown as the Bills lost 23-19. Stafford has nearly 450 more passing yards than him this season. The Rams signal-caller also leads the league in passing touchdowns.

However, Allen has compensated for it with his rushing skills. He has rushed 535 yards for 12 touchdowns, while Stafford has none. Buffalo (10-4) is second in the AFC East following the victory over New England.

Josh Allen makes a leap in MVP race with win over New England

Josh Allen went head-to-head against Drake Maye, one of the top contenders for the MVP award, on Sunday. The Patriots star outplayed the three-time Pro Bowler for much of the first half, making two trips to the end zone. However, Allen's second-half heroics were too much to handle for Maye and his team.

Allen threw for 193 yards and three touchdowns en route to a comeback win. The result kept Buffalo alive in the division title race as it heads to Cleveland to take on Shedeur Sanders and Co. in Week 16.
