Jauan Jennings, Kyle Shanahan address brawl after 49ers-Panthers game

Jauan Jennings, who had been punished for on-field incidents in the last two games of the previous season, discussed his scuffle with Tre'von Moehrig with reporters in the locker room:

"TV is going to tell you what happened. I was just responding to me, to some childish behavior. That's all it was."

He denied that he and Moehrig had had prior tensions:

"It was just out of nowhere. Like I said, just the history of me playing ball. I play hard. I'm physically stronger than lot of DBs out there, so a lot of things happen in between the whistle, at least with me."

Meanwhile, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan praised his player for mostly keeping his calm and not extending his actions to the opposing sideline:

"Guy took a cheap shot, hit him in the balls and I’m real proud of Jauan for not losing his mind out there and getting to the sideline."

The 49ers next visit the Cleveland Browns on Sunday. Kickoff is at 10 a.m. PT on CBS.
