Houston Texans star quarterback CJ Stroud was part of a viral moment during Sunday's matchup against the Denver Broncos. The third-year quarterback tried to lead his team to its fourth win of the season against a difficult opponent eager to dominate at NRG Stadium. At 13:56 in the second quarter, Stroud received the ball and scrambled up the middle to gain six yards. The play appeared to have a normal ending, but Stroud's head hit the ground when he slid and safety Kris Abrams-Draine hit him. The referees threw the flag while the quarterback stayed on the ground.Stroud left the field, replaced by David Mills, when the Texans were 3-0 up against the Broncos. He went six of 10 for 79 yards while carrying the ball twice for a 12-yard gain before the big hit. Texans players took issue with Abrams-Draine's actions and tried to surround him after seeing their teammate down. Entering this game, Stroud went 155 of 232 for 1,623 yards and 11 touchdowns against five interceptions and 15 sacks. Additionally, he carried the ball 27 times for 177 yards. The Texans are on a positive trajectory after a rough 0-3 start to the season, with losses against the LA Rams, Tampa Bay Buccaneers and divisional rivals, the Jacksonville Jaguars. A win against the Broncos would put the Texans on the .500 mark, but Stroud's injury scare may complicate everything.NFL fans react to CJ Stroud viral hit against the BroncosNFL fans had a lot to say about Kris Abrams-Draine's hit on Stroud.
