Ben Johnson taking his shirt off has been a possibility for weeks. The offensive-minded head coach was asked about the chances before his team's Week 8 game against the Baltimore Ravens. Johnson sounded open to the idea, but the Bears lost the game.

The Bears have since gone on a five-game winning streak, and the first-year head coach deemed it fit to pull off an iconic celebration. Furthermore, he just earned free hot dogs for the city of Chicago.

That's because 'The Wieners Circle' promised the city free hot dogs if Johnson won and took off his shirt. The popular North Side hot dog stand now has a whole lot of customers to satisfy.

Ben Johnson and the Bears are eyeing their first playoff appearance since 2018

Ben Johnson joined the Chicago Bears after a thoroughly impressive spell as the offensive coordinator of the Detroit Lions. He was tasked with turning the team's fortunes around after numerous disappointing seasons.

Johnson is doing just that, leading the Bears to a 9-3 record. It's important to note that they haven't won 9 games in a regular season since 2018, when they went 12-4.

The Bears are currently first in the stacked NFC North. They're above the Green Bay Packers (8-3-1), Detroit Lions (7-5), and Minnesota Vikings (4-7).

A few more wins will ensure the Bears make the playoffs for the first time since the 2020 season. The Bears' remaining fixtures are against the Green Bay Packers, Cleveland Browns, Packers (again), San Francisco 49ers, and Johnson's old side, the Detroit Lions. The team is thriving in Johnson's first season, and could be a nightmare matchup come the postseason.
