Cleveland Browns rookie Shedeur Sanders delivered a breakout performance in his third NFL start on Sunday, becoming the first rookie quarterback this season to throw for more than 300 yards. Sanders completed 23 passes for a career-high 364 yards and recorded four touchdowns, three through the air and one on the ground.

One of Sanders’ touchdowns came early in the second quarter on a 1-yard diving catch by David Njoku, who suffered a knee injury on the play. From the field, Sanders shouted at his trusted veteran to get back on his feet, a mix of urgency and passion in his voice.

“Get your b**ch a** up,” Sanders shouted at the injured Njoku.

Njoku scored to pull the Browns within four points of Tennessee, but he suffered a knee injury on the play. The medical staff quickly attended to him, helping him walk off the field. Even in pain, he raised his hand in a touchdown signal, prompting a loud cheer from the crowd at Huntington Bank Field.

The touchdown was Njoku’s fourth of the season and his first since the 27-20 loss to the New York Jets on Nov. 9. However, it was his last bit of action of the day, as he left the field and did not return.

Shedeur Sanders making a case to become the Cleveland Browns' franchise quarterback

Although the Cleveland Browns fell 31–29 on Sunday, Shedeur Sanders delivered arguably the best performance by a rookie quarterback this season in that game.

He also joined a rare company in team history, becoming the first Browns quarterback since 1950 to pass for over 300 yards, throw three or more touchdowns, and score a rushing touchdown all in the same game.

Sanders, in only his third start, showed calmness, accuracy and the ability to move in the pocket. He proved he has what it takes to be a nailed starter in the NFL.

The Browns came up short on the scoreboard, but Sanders’ performance makes it hard to doubt that he could be the team’s long-term quarterback.

With the Browns at 3-10 and already out of playoff contention, Shedeur Sanders will take the reins as the team's starter for the final four games, aiming to cement his role as the franchise quarterback.

Next up is a challenging road trip to face the Chicago Bears, followed by a matchup against the Buffalo Bills on Dec. 21. Cleveland's season concludes with two divisional games against the Pittsburgh Steelers and Cincinnati Bengals.
