Jaxson Dart and the Giants are up against the San Francisco 49ers in Week 9

Jaxson Dart and Co. had a forgettable Week 8. The Giants suffered a 38-20 loss to defending Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. They also lost rookie running back Cam Skattebo for the rest of the season.

Skattebo was enjoying an impressive rookie season and built up a close friendship with Dart. The Arizona State product compiled a stat line of 101 carries, 410 rushing yards, and five rushing touchdowns before suffering a season-ending ankle injury in Week 8. Skattebo's injury is the latest blow to the Giants' offense, as they’ve already dealt with losing star wide receiver Malik Nabers for the rest of the season.

Nabers suffered an ACL injury in his side's Week 4 win over the Los Angeles Chargers. That left a gaping hole in the wide receiver department, and one that Dart will have to cope with until the 2026 campaign.

Next up for Jaxson Dart and the Giants is a matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers are 5-3 this season, and remain one of the trickier teams to face off against in the NFC. They're looking to bounce back from a Week 8 loss to the Houston Texans.

The Giants' upcoming game against the 49ers is a must-win for Brian Daboll's side. The team is currently 2-6, and can't afford any more slip-ups if they're looking to squeeze into the playoff picture.
