Keon Coleman was supposed to be the Buffalo Bills' next star receiver after Stefon Diggs, but he has struggled to live up to expectations and now finds himself on the fringes. On Thursday, the second-year wide receiver was a healthy scratch for the Week 12 game against the Houston Texans, the second time he has been left out since showing up late to a team meeting before last Sunday's 44-32 win against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.Minutes before kickoff, Matthew Bove, sports director for ABC's Buffalo-area affiliate WKBW 7, posted a video of Coleman talking to Bills minority owner Tracy McGrady. As of this writing, it has been viewed 365,000 times. It's unclear what the two were discussing, but McGrady appeared to be doing most of the talking.During Tuesday's practice, head coach Sean McDermott discussed Coleman's benching:"I'm aware of how he handled it more publicly, and I appreciate that and respect that. And now it's again, one day at a time, and earning the trust and respect of the teammates. And that takes time, so that each day that goes by, you check 'em off as wins, trust builds. So, that's the important piece of it."Former exec calls for Bills to cut Keon Coleman amidst two-game benchingFormer director of player personnel Jim Monos has called for Bills general manager Brandon Beane to take drastic action against Keon Coleman.“They should just cut Keon Coleman," Monos said pn Tyler Dunne's "Go Long" podcast on Thursday. "It would be one of the ultimate messages, moving to your owner and saying ‘yeah look, we messed up. ... They don’t need (him). ... At any point in that game (Bills-Buccaneers), did you say ‘Gosh, if they had Keon Coleman, they might win this game?’”He continued:"You can't even walk through the locker room and look those guys in the eye. You're not showing up on time as a rookie? You're joining an elite football team. You should be so fortunate. You get to play with a generational quarterback. ... That's so disrespectful to Josh Allen."As of halftime, the Bills trail the Texans 20-16.
