Von Miller signed a reported one-year, $6.1 million contract with the Washington Commanders in the offseason. However, things could have gone differently for the veteran linebacker, who said that he was looking for a potential reunion with the Denver Broncos, who are currently leading the AFC West.In an episode on his "Free Range" podcast last week, Miller said that he reached out to the Broncos in the offseason, but they had different plays. "I did reach out to the Denver Broncos," Miller said. "I tried to be on the Denver Broncos as well, but it was just a short conversation with me and (Broncos GM) George Paton.Miller also explained that Paton informed him about the Broncos having several pass rushers, including Jonah Elliss and Dondrea Tillman, behind starters Nik Bonitto and Jonathon Cooper, suggesting that the veteran LB might not be the right fit for the team."They both play special teams, and they do all the grunt work," Miller said of Elliss and Tillman. "You know me, I'm a three-point shooter. Like, I'm gonna come in, I'm gonna shoot the three-point. Like, when I'm in the game, I'm ball-hogging, I'm just trying to make the play, then they take me out. But they didn't really need that, you know. They didn't really need that this year."The Broncos took Miller with the No. 2 pick in the 2011 NFL draft. He played just over 10 seasons with the team and helped Denver win the Super Bowl in 2016. Miller also won a Super Bowl with the LA Rams in 2022. He played the past three seasons with the Buffalo Bills before signing with Washington in July.
