Cam Newton is blaming Josh Allen for the Buffalo Bills’ Week 10 loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. The Bills, who entered the game as a solid favorite, suffered a 30-13 upset at the hands of the divisional rival at Hard Rock Stadium to record their third defeat of the season.
In his appearance on “First Take” on Monday, Newton pointed fingers at the reigning NFL MVP for the largely disappointing defeat. Allen completed 28 of 40 passes for 306 yards and two touchdowns with an interception, but it wasn't enough to earn the Bills a win on Sunday.
"I'm going with Joshua Allen, and it's not even close.” Newton said. “I think last year's success recipe is not this year's success recipe. Last year, we were all questioning Brandon Bean's decision to not give Josh a number one receiver with the removal of the Stefan Diggs…
“Where's Keon Coleman? Where are these guys that are in the position to make plays? … When you don't have the same production at the receiver position, and this year now puts the onus on Josh Allen, and you add in turnovers, and you add in bad decision making, that's how you get to a point now where it's extremely alarming."

Josh Allen and the Bills have been considered a Super Bowl contender since the offseason, and their early form has met that expectation. However, the performance of the team in recent weeks has raised a lot of concerns.
Josh Allen reacts to the loss to the Dolphins
Josh Allen expressed his feelings about the loss to the Miami Dolphins on Sunday. In his postgame press conference, the quarterback believes his team didn't push for the win enough compared to the opponent and notes areas where he needs to improve moving forward.
“They came ready to play,” Allen said. “They wanted it, obviously, a little more than us. I gotta be better. I'd be better in the protection game, in the pass game, in the run game, all of it. It's anytime you turn it over three times, two in the red zone, and really you could count that last one driving, kind of going into the red zone. So that's a recipe for disaster.”
Josh Allen entered the Sunday game as the betting favorite for the NFL MVP, a position he's held since the start of the season. However, the loss has seen him drop to No. 5 in the odds ranking with +700 odds. He will need to be very consistent in the remainder of the season to have a chance of retaining the honor.
