"Trying to earn a contract": Jordan Poyer's wife Rachel Bush makes feelings known as safety aims to retire a Buffalo Bill

Jordan Poyer is in his 13th season in the NFL and his second stint with the Buffalo Bills. The 34-year-old may be nearing the end of his football career but, he is still playing at a high caliber.

Jordan Poyer's wife, Rachel Bush, credited her husband's ability to still make key plays and work hard even as his career comes to a close.

"Watches film and studies like he’s trying to earn a contract still. One of the first ones in and last ones out every day. He came in here thinking he would be playing a mentor roll to close this out & now he’s out there making 15 tackles a game. proud would be an understatement," Rachel Bush stated on X.

In six games this season with the Buffalo Bills, Poyer has 15 tackles, 40 combined tackles and two passes defended.

Jordan Poyer signed a one-year contract with the Buffalo Bills in August and was placed on the practice squad. Poyer valued his position as a veteran player and to help mentor the next generation of NFL players.

In Week 6, he was place on the active roster and has been an integral part of the Buffalo Bills defense since then. Last month, his wife, Rachel Bush, reflected on their time in Buffalo, which dates back in 2017 when he first signed with the Buffalo Bills.

"Things we love: football season in Buffalo🦬🏈 the other day I realized we’ve been here since I was 19 🥹 This year I’m just so full of joy and gratitude. Happy to be back 💃🏽✨ What’s been built here over the years and what we get to be apart of once again is irreplaceable. Go Bills ❤️💙," Rachel Bush reminisced.

Poyer was drafted by the Philadelphia Eagles in the seventh-round of the 2013 NFL Draft. He played just three games with the Eagles before he was released and picked up by the Cleveland Browns. He played with the Browns through the 2016 NFL season, from 2017 through 2023 he played with the Buffalo Bills. Last season he played with the Miami Dolphins.
